I am a native Jersey Girl.
I love to write and I love to travel.
Within recent years, I have been fortunate enough to travel quite a bit, visiting nearly a dozen countries and several new states.
While traveling, I realized that many of the people I encountered had a pretty negative opinion of New Jersey…if they knew where we were at all. I’m hoping that through this site I can help repair my beloved state’s reputation and at the same time be able to do the two things I love, write and travel, in my own backyard.

Hi Melissa – your blog is so cute and creative. I love that your Dad is taking those pictures. Be sure to sit at the funeral home for the parade this year – we always have coffee and donuts etc. – for 50+ years. It would be great to see you. I just discovered your blog (because I’m always checking out other New Jersey blogs), and I so agree with you about the bad rap that New Jersey gets. I want to travel around the state and take pictures and write about it, just like you! Right now I travel around North Jersey because that is where I live, so I love reading about the places that you go. Your blog is great. New Jersey is a vastly misunderstood state.
