Lately, New Jersey media, including WCTC radio, have been buzzing about a new book called No More Dating Pigs — You Are What You Date. The book is written by New Jersey writer, Norah Marler.

I received a copy a few weeks ago, and made curious because of the title, it moved up to the top of my reading list. I’m just getting a chance to take a look at it now…full review will be on NSNJ soon.

7:00~1/13/12~Elijah’s Promise

At 7:00 tonight, I was just about to start cleaning up the kitchen. It was the one at Elijah’s Promise, the soup kitchen in New Brunswick.

I volunteered for the dinner prep shift and, with a team of other volunteers and staff members, helped prepare a meal for almost one hundred people.

My experience at Elijah’s Promise was a very special one, and I will certainly be heading back there to volunteer again.

Paying attention to my health and overall well-being is something that often gets pushed aside due to a very busy schedule. I’m trying, though, to make a better effort to take good care of myself.

My 7:00 picture tonight was taken where I was stretching my neck and back muscles…and feeling the stress and tension melt away.

Tonight at 7:00, I’m at the Barron Arts Center in Woodbridge for Poets Wednesday. The poet tonight is Chris Rockwell, a favorite of mine.

He’s leading a poetry workshop and then reading his own work. I’m very excited about this!

It’s been a long first Monday back to work. Tonight, I’m relaxing at the chiropractor - where I will begin a new stretching routine.

Coming here is a great way for me to shut everything off for a while, pick my feet up, and relax.

Earlier today, I went birding for the first time! I went to the Glades Wildlife Refuge in Newport – a part of the National Lands Trust of NJ and eastern PA.

My guides were full of information and so helpful.

Before I write up my fantastic experience for NSNJ, I want to do a little more research about the trust…that’s where I am at 7:00 tonight.
